The goal of GenGreen is to mainstream green for all by providing easy access to the resources that make sustainable living easier for everyone on a local level. This is accomplished in a variety of ways from our extensive online network and public events that encourage connection, growth and education through communication, to our online marketplace where people can find the eco-friendly products and services they need to support their sustainable lifestyles.
GenGreen is a multi-faceted platform for communication, education and connection. From green news headlines pertinent to your area, to job listings and tips to live a sustainable life, GenGreen is a comprehensive online resource for the tools you need to live a locally sustainable life. Want to find a recycling center near you? Where are your local farmers' markets? Looking for an alternative means to get to and from work each day? You can find the answers to these questions, and much more, at GenGreen.org, such as:
The GenGreen Network
The GenGreen Network is a platform to share ideas, educate one another and get more involved in sustainable practices. Profiles, blogs, personal event calendars and, eventually, topical discussion forums are just a few of the resources that registered users can access on the Network.
The GenGreen Marketplace - Coming Spring 2008!
With localization at its heart, the GenGreen Marketplace is a new take on the green online market and is unique in its ability to pair shoppers with the product vendors and service providers nearest them.
The GenGreen Foundation
The GenGreen Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that strives to educate our youth about the importance of environmental stewardship. Through student-operated environmental programs called GenGreen Gangs, young people are provided with the tools they need to implement sustainable practices on their campuses, such as recycling drives and organic gardens.
